What is
Footvolley?

Footvolley is a sport born on the beaches of Brazil in the 1960s — combining the technical skill of soccer with the rhythm and rules of beach volleyball.

Players use their feet, chest, shoulders, and head — but never their hands — to send the ball over the net. Every touch requires balance, timing, and technique.

It's one of the most physically demanding and visually stunning sports in the world — and it's growing fast right here in California.

Footvolley is a sport that combines soccer and beach volleyball. Players use their feet, chest, shoulders, and head — but no hands — to get the ball over the net. It originated in Brazil in the 1960s on the beaches of Rio de Janeiro and has grown into a global sport known for its incredible athleticism, technical skill, and beach culture.
Soccer experience helps but is absolutely not required. We welcome everyone — from complete beginners to experienced soccer players to volleyball players. Our coaches adapt training to your current skill level and help you progress at your own pace.
Absolutely! Our classes are beginner-friendly by design. We start with fundamentals — ball control, basic touches, positioning — and build from there. Many of our students had never played footvolley before their first class.
We currently train in two locations: the San Francisco Bay Area (our primary location) and Corona del Mar / Newport Beach. Exact training spots are shared when you sign up. We train on beach or sand courts — the authentic footvolley experience.
Yes! The San Francisco Bay Area is our primary training location. We offer classes on Tuesday at 5 PM, Thursday at 5 PM, and Saturday at 9 AM. We serve the broader Bay Area including Peninsula, South Bay, East Bay, and surrounding communities.
Yes! We have a growing branch in Corona del Mar / Newport Beach offering footvolley training for the Southern California community. Contact us via Instagram @bolapracimafootvolley or use our sign-up form to get the current schedule.
Wear athletic clothes you're comfortable moving in. Bring water, sunscreen, and a soccer ball if you have one. Since we train on sand, you can go barefoot or wear sand socks. No special footvolley shoes are required for beginners.
Each class is one hour: 10 minutes of warm-up and dynamic stretching, 30 minutes of skill development and technical training, and 20 minutes of games and scrimmages.
The easiest way is to fill out our sign-up form on this website or send us a DM on Instagram @bolapracimafootvolley. We'll confirm the current schedule, location, and get you set up for your first session.
Footvolley is one of the best complementary sports for soccer players. It builds exceptional first touch, ball control under pressure, aerial technique, and soccer IQ. Many professional soccer players in Brazil regularly play footvolley in the off-season.
